The Red Rattler is having financial troubles, and have set up a community drive on the mentioned Pozible website. Some of the best shows I’ve seen have been here and it’s one of the places in Sydney doing things with the right intent, for bands and audience alike.
Our music video clip for Any Day Now is the Rage ‘Independent of the Week’ this week. Tonight and tomorrow morning’s viewings after Atoms for Peace (?) and Chris Isaak (!) respectively.

Over two seven-inches and now this full-length, Sydney’s Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys have traversed punk’s spare-change economy and strained away the dynamics, leaving the raw, wounded sentiment behind on tape. They share a quality with what must be one of their primary influences, The Replacements,…
Words.
After reading that go into tumblr search tags ‘still single’ and feel better about your life situation.

American Bad Boys- dusted magazine has shown an interest in the Australian Bad Boys record. If I know pop culture, this record is about to blow up over there.

RIP032: Bed Wettin Bad Boys – Ready For Boredom
Out January 14 2013 on R.I.P Society. Distributed by FUSE in Australia, Easter Bilby in the US.
Ready For Boredom is the debut full length from Sydney’s most aptly named power punk band – a charming mix of the best of the ‘70s punk explosion with the mid-‘80s US independent underground.
Their approach is grounded in the UK pre-punk pubs and wild bands like Dr. Feelgood and Slade, who pre-empted the punk resurgence of rock n roll in the pop charts with bold riffing and a no frills approach, much in the same manner The Replacements would do a decade later in the American Midwest. This combination of the industrious post-hardcore US and the song oriented UK punk finds expression in the devout interrogation of ‘Sally’, in the heartbroken longing of ‘Bite My Tongue’, in the tribute to all guitar riffing history of ‘Devotion’.
This is a band that never had a humble beginning by virtue of their idiotic name and anomalous approach – a shambolic trio with a guitar, a bass and a standup drummer bashing cymbal, snare and floor tom, all taking turns to sing songs that were thick with feeling. Despite the suggestion that it was all a con and they were just there to have a blast and ruffle a few feathers in a Sydney that wouldn’t take to ye olde guitar riff easily, the BWBB were expressing a depth of vulnerability in songs that were clearly about real life feelings, insecurities and inadequacies presented matter-of-factly. Yes, they insisted, we might have the kind of name that not even a suburban rap crew of 14-year old nang huffers would take on, but we’re a real band, and these are real songs.
After recording their Nobody Else 7”, they enlisted a drummer who’d never drummed before, prizing the solidarity of the band as gang. The following American tour with Royal Headache tightened their sound and approach. Ready For Boredom is the result, an incongruous blend of ideas and styles entirely their own, expressing equally the contradictory drives to make of rock music the good times and the drunken mess it always has been, and concurrently the site of an expression of abundant feeling.
Success, rock album, out January 14. Thanks to Daniel Stewart for writing some things to describe this album and band. Now when work colleagues, relatives, strangers ask what the hell Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys is, they can be referred on.
One of the important bands of Australia. Great Interview.
